Brighton vs Arsenal: Preview, Possible Lineups & Prediction

Brighton take on Arsenal at the American Express Stadium on Wednesday 4th March 2026. Kick off is at 7:30 PM GMT – 8:30 PM WAT. Arsenal make the journey south in search of another victory. They are being chased closely by a tough Premier League title race.

Meanwhile, Brighton’s season has been revitalized courtesy of back to back wins and Fabian Hürzeler‘s side are in 11th with 37 points in the table, and are looking to upset the leaders.

Match Preview

Arsenal lead the table and are on a nine match unbeaten run which includes victories over their London rivals in the last few weeks. They dominated their last meeting with Brighton at the Emirates, winning 2-1 on 27th December 2025. Their overall strength in defense, combined with a very potent attack and a strong record in this fixture make them the likely winners in this one. They’ve got an excellent record of keeping clean sheets and scoring loads of goals which make them strong contenders in the title race despite their congested schedule.

Brighton vs Arsenal: Preview, Possible Lineups & Prediction

Brighton have managed to get themselves out of a tight spot with a series of recent good performances including a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest. However they still need to sort out their defense as they can only manage to keep a few clean sheets lately. Playing at home in the American Express Stadium is always a challenging experience for opposing teams and Brighton’s pacey counter attacks and set pieces could be a problem for the Gunners. This midweek fixture is crucial for Arsenal if they want to keep the momentum going and hopefully over 2.5 goals are scored as this has been a trend in the recent games between these two teams.

Head-to-head – Arsenal have had the upper hand lately, with a 2-1 win in their last encounter, showing they have the edge in this fixture.

Possible Lineups

Brighton & Hove Albion (4-2-3-1): Verbruggen – Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, Kadioglu – Gross, Baleba – Gomez, Hinshelwood, Mitoma – Welbeck

Fabian Hürzeler’s side have some fitness concerns: Mats Wieffer is a doubt with a knock and Yasin Ayari is nearing a return from a shoulder injury, while Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas are sidelined with long term knee injuries. Another key player, Kaoru Mitoma, is fit and ready to unleash his pace and skill down the wing.

Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya – Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapié – Zubimendi, Rice ( fitness doubts ) – SakaEze, Gyökeres, Trossard

Mikel Arteta is dealing with fitness concerns of his own – Declan Rice is a doubt and Martin Ødegaard is missing with a knee injury. Ben White is also out, while another key player in Mikel Merino is on the under treatment for an operation on his foot. On the plus side, Bukayo Saka is set to create something out of nothing in the attack and has some support from Eberechi Eze in midfield.

Prediction

Arsenal’s top of the league form, their defensive solidity and the quality they have in key areas make them the strong favourites to win this one, even taking into account their injury concerns. With the attacking quality of Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, they should be able to find a way through Brighton’s back four. However, Brighton have shown some real grit and determination with their recent performances and their home advantage could see them get on the scoresheet but it looks like Arsenal will just about edge this one out.

Final score prediction – Brighton 1-2 Arsenal
