Manchester City vs Fulham: Preview, Possible Lineups & Prediction
Manchester City welcome Fulham to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 11th of February 2026 – 7:30 PM GMT (8:30 PM WAT) to be exact. Pep Guardiola‘s team are still buzzing from their dramatic late comeback win at Anfield against Liverpool, and they’re now pushing hard in the title race, a full six points behind leaders Arsenal. Fulham on the other hand, who are being managed by Marco Silva, are in and out of form, currently sitting mid-table but have the potential to cause a few upsets with their attacking style.
Match Summary
Manchester City are currently second in the Premier League with around 50 points from 25 games, which is quite an impressive achievement given the injury issues they’ve faced. They’ve won their last 19 matches against Fulham in all competitions, including last December’s 5-4 thriller at Craven Cottage. Erling Haaland had a blinder in that one. The Etihad is always a tough place for opponents to visit, and City are yet to be beaten at home in the league this season. Fulham, meanwhile, are hovering around 10th-12th with 34 points, and it’s a mixed bag really – some great performances, some pretty poor ones too. They actually beat Everton quite recently, but struggle when they’re away from home. This fixture is always a good ‘un for neutral fans, as it usually ends up being a high-scoring match, and City’s quality should tell, especially with the likes of Rodri creating a lot of chances. However, Fulham do have some threats of their own, like Raúl Jiménez and Harry Wilson, who can cause problems on the break.
As you’d expect, City’s head-to-head record against Fulham is pretty one-sided, but Fulham’s organisation under Marco Silva makes them a more dangerous proposition than you might think. So we can expect City to dominate possession, with Rodri and the other creative midfielders looking to unlock Fulham’s defence.
Possible Lineups
Manchester City (might go 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1): Donnarumma – Nunes, Dias, Guéhi, Aït-Nouri – Rodri, O’Reilly – Bernardo Silva, Cherki, Semenyo – Haaland
It’ll be interesting to see how Pep sets his team out given that he’s got some of his defensive options back. Rúben Dias is available again after injury and Khusanov’s recovered from his head knock. However, Gvardiol, Doku, Savinho and Kovacic are all out. Erling Haaland is still leading the line though, which has to be a big boost for City.
Fulham (4-2-3-1): Leno – Tete, Andersen, Cuenca, Robinson – Iwobi, Berge – Wilson, Smith Rowe, Chukwueze – Jiménez
Marco Silva has got a pretty much full squad to choose from, apart from Castagne who’s out and Bobb who’s not quite ready yet. Raúl Jiménez is going to be the focal point up front, and he’s got some decent support from players like Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson, who are always capable of causing problems.
Prediction
After their Anfield heroics, City are in a pretty good place, and at home against a team they’ve always dominated, they should be in control of proceedings. Erling Haaland is always a danger man in these sorts of games, and Rodri dictates the pace of the match. Of course, Fulham can still cause some problems on the break, especially with Raúl Jiménez‘s hold-up play. But City’s defence, bolstered by the return of Rúben Dias, should be able to keep them at bay. A comfortable win for City keeps the pressure on Arsenal in the title race.
Final score prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Fulham
