Liverpool vs Fulham: Preview, Possible Lineups & Prediction

Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield on Saturday, April 18, 2026 – and what a day it should be. Kick-off isn’t until 3:00 PM BST (4:00 PM WAT), but the excitement around this one has been building for weeks. Arne Slot‘s Reds are still chasing that elusive top-four spot and a spot in next season’s European competition. They know they need to keep their home form ticking over, and Anfield has been a fortress for them this season.

Match Preview

Liverpool sit right up there in the top six, and they’ve been looking almost unbeatable on their own patch. Most of their home games this season have seen them scoring plenty and defending resolutely – the perfect combination. They’re coming off any recent setbacks though and will be hungry to bounce back and keep their European hopes alive.

Fulham meanwhile are just trying to stay comfortable mid-table, and they’ve been doing all right for themselves. They’re difficult to beat when they get it right, with a robust defence and some wicked counter-attacks. Their last meeting at Craven Cottage in December 2025 was a close-run thing, but Liverpool managed to edge it.

You know what to expect from an Anfield match – a high-energy game with possession being dominated by the home side and plenty of chances at both ends. This should be no exception. Liverpool will be pushing on and Fulham will be sitting back and trying to catch them on the break. We’ve seen plenty of goals in these kinds of games, especially when Liverpool are playing at home.

Head to Head: Liverpool have the upper hand in recent years when it comes to playing Fulham at Anfield.

Possible Lineups

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Mamardashvili – Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez – Gravenberch, Mac Allister – Salah (he’s going to be a handful!), Wirtz, Gakpo – Ekitiké

Slot has his entire squad at his disposal after the international break, which is a good thing for Reds fans. The big question is whether they can get the best out of their stars. One player you can always count on is Mohamed Salah – the Egyptian is a goal-scoring machine and will be a real handful for Fulham’s backline. And with Florian Wirtz adding some creativity to the attacking midfield mix, it’s going to be a tough day for Fulham’s defence.

Fulham (4-2-3-1): Leno – Tete, Andersen, Cuenca, Robinson – Iwobi, Berge – Wilson, Smith Rowe, Chukwueze (he’s quick – be prepared!) – Jiménez (he’s the main man up front)

Silva is fielding a solid team with few major injuries to worry about. He’s got a bit of pace and a lot of experience at the back, and up front Raúl Jiménez will be the one to watch – he’s a handful for any defence. And Samuel Chukwueze and Emile Smith Rowe will be looking to catch Liverpool on the break and cause some problems.

Prediction

At the end of the day Liverpool’s home dominance and attacking quality should be too much for Fulham. Expect Mohamed Salah to shine again at Anfield – he’s due a few goals! Fulham will be difficult to break down, and they might even nick a goal or two. But the Reds’ intensity and the home crowd support should prove too much. It’s going to be an entertaining match, and one that Liverpool should win comfortably, but not without Fulham causing some problems along the way.

Final score prediction: Liverpool 3-1 Fulham
